I can go get morphine pumped into my system and nobody's got a problem. But all of a sudden they're really worried if I smoked a joint.

TV host and medical marijuana patient Montel Williams took another step in his agenda to advocate the health benefits of medicinal cannabis. The 55-year old Williams announced a partnership with Sacramento medical marijuana dispensary Capital Wellness Center at a news conference on Monday. Williams himself suffers from multiple sclerosis and uses marijuana to help alleviate the neurological pain caused by the disease.
"Prescription drugs nearly shut down my kidneys," Williams told the Sacramento Bee. "Then a doctor suggested I try medical marijuana."
Williams insist that he is more than a figurehead for the dispensary, claiming to be involved in the high-end facility "at every level of the cooperative, from the philosophical direction down to the blueprints."
Williams has become a national spokesperson for medical marijuana. Last year, he appeared on several New York news stations advocating for legalization in that state.
