Marijuana Detective & Nark Journalist Guide to Not Getting Busted

Marijuana Detective & Nark Journalist Guide to Not Getting Busted

The war on marijuana offends, angers, and injures marijuana growers and users.

It’s a war waged by police and other nark people who are prejudiced against marijuana, marijuana culture, and marijuana growers.

Media articles published on a “new journalism” website are a perfect example of the prejudice and dangers marijuana growers and users face.

Written by a 20-something Ohio nark named “Amanda Harnocz” who describes herself as “a journalist in Northeast Ohio completely obsessed with social media,” the articles feature interviews with “narcotics detective Tom Gottas” who sucks down tax dollars harming plant lovers in Stow, Ohio.

Detective Gottas “advises folks to use a combination of Yankee common sense and old-fashioned sleuthing to figure out whether a neighbor who acts suspicious has an illegal indoor, home-based pot-growing operation.”

As I read the anti-marijuana articles written by Harnocz, I was reminded of two books: “Nazi Justiz,” and “Drug Warriors and Their Prey.”

Written by a historian, the books explain how Hitler convinced “regular Germans” to hate Jews, spy on them, and use “sleuthing” to figure out if people were Jews or were harboring Jews.

The historian reveals how the American war on marijuana borrows from Hitler, racism, and other fascist influences.

Here’s how the process works: Demonize a group of harmless people, then encourage citizens to ferret out those people and harm them.

That’s the exact template used by Amanda Harnocz and her detective friend.

Teaching Your Neighbors to Snitch Your Marijuana Grow Op

As revealed in a Harnocz article, Detective Gottas encourages people to look for the following factors that allegedly indicate a hidden marijuana grow op:

  1. Fans, scrubbers, and air fresheners running to mask the “intense robust organic” smell of marijuana.
  2. Heavy traffic in the area of the house by foot, car and bike.
  3. Groups of people staying short periods of time.
  4. People coming and going at all hours. The detective said most of the mentioned activity happens at night.
  5. Growing marijuana takes lots of power, so watch for extra power cords and generators.
  6. Look for large amounts of trash, including vegetative trash in bags.
  7. Large amounts of vegetative aids such as fertilizer and planters without seeing the landscape outside of the home to go with it.
  8. Covered exterior vents like roof gables and no open windows to keep the marijuana smell contained
  9. Power and lights are used but you never see anyone collect the mail or see a person in the yard.
  10. Specifically in Stow, Gottas said he and his crew have seen a lot of “windows covered with reflective coverings, fans constantly running exhaust air from what should be a bedroom window, basement windows covered with black plastic, subjects carrying potting soil and fertilizer into the house and garden hoses running into the house.

Amanda and the detective have given us good insight into what narks look for.

Those of us who grow marijuana had better live a very careful, bland external life, so we don’t arouse a nark’s suspicion.

Kind of like making sure not to wear your Star of David, or in any other way let on that you’re Jewish, in Nazi Germany in the 1930’s.

Because if they discovered you’re Jewish in that era in that country, or that you’re a marijuana grower in places where Amanda Harnocz and Detective Gottas live, you might see your door kicked down, guns put to your head, your children stolen from you, your home trashed, your life ruined.

Police Officers Oppose Marijuana Legalization For Selfish Reasons

The Harnocz articles quote the detective in a very revealing way, showing that the war on marijuana is a cultural war, and a jobs program for police and narks.

“If it looks suspicious and is not what normal people do, [emphasis added] there’s probably something not right about it. And the biggest hint or clue of all is the odor,” Detective Gottas says. “A large scale marijuana grow has a distinctive, pungent odor that’s hard to describe, but very noticeable. Sometimes they manage to mask the odor pretty well, but typically at some spot around the house there is a noticeable smell.”

But I wonder if nark Amanda Harnocz and Detective Gottas realize what happens when you nark on your neighbor.

As documented by award-winning investigative journalist Radley Balko in his book Rise of the Warrior Cop and in his other writings, the drug war uses deadly military tactics and hardware.

So let’s imagine that some nosy, pot-hating person reads an Amanda Harnocz article and starts “sleuthing” because she has neighbors who don’t seem “normal.”

If the nark believes her neighbors are growing marijuana, she notifies law enforcement.

Then, all hell breaks loose.

Marijuana Doesn’t Destroy Lives…Narks & Police Destroy Lives

In another Amanda Harnocz article, we see Gottas encouraging people to use anonymous tip lines:

“Gottas said it’s not uncommon for the department to receive an anonymous tip. While the Summit County Drug Task Force is constantly investigating, drugs are found for three reasons: revenge, case consideration and cash.

“Sometimes they get ripped off on a drug deal and want to report the seller,” he said. “Other times they’ve been arrested and want to get their charges reduced.”

The department also pays cash to those who go out and buy drugs undercover — usually between $50 and $100, said Gottas.

If anyone wishes to give an anonymous drug tip, call 330-689-DRUG. Gottas said the department does not trace those calls and a number is not picked up by caller I.D.”

Two majorly outrageous things leap out at you when you read this. Remember  that police have gotten people killed by sending them out to do undercover buys.

And all Gottas offers is $50-100 to put their lives at risk by ratting out someone?!?

Number two is that the cop clearly revels in the fact that marijuana laws are used as a form of revenge, for profit, or for a person caught by police to get their charges reduced.

When laws and law enforcement are used for revenge and profit, you know you have a corrupt system on your hands.

So after a nosy neighbor nark notifies law enforcement about the “not normal” people who might have a hydroponics marijuana grow room, police officers spend a lot of tax dollars and time to contrive, fabricate, or otherwise put together enough “evidence” for an authorized or unauthorized visit or raid.

At the very least, nark tips result in people being visited by police.

But it’s usually a lot worse than that.

Marijuana raids gone wrong have resulted in many innocent people being injured or killed.

Marijuana raids are needlessly militarized and brutal, sowing terror into the hearts of harmless citizens.

If you get caught operating a marijuana grow room in backwards places like Ohio or Florida, you get prison sentences and other penalties harsher than those given to child molesters, rapists, DUI manslaughter drivers, and violent criminals.

When Amanda Harnocz and Detective Gottas advocate narking and busting pot people, what they’re really saying is it’s ok to put guns to those people’s heads, ransack their houses, ruin their family, and throw them in prison.

This has all been seen before.

The history books tell us about “good Germans” who narked out Jews during the Hitler era.

When they were told Jews ended up in concentration camps where they were tortured and killed, some said, “Oh well, they deserved it, they were Jews.”

How Not To Be a War Casualty

As a medical marijuana grower and user injured by the war on marijuana and the cultural prejudice of people like Amanda Harnocz, I’m proud that BigBudsMag.com is one of few media resources that consistently warns our medical marijuana community so we avoid becoming casualties of war.

You read articles on this website about a former drug cop advising you how to “never get busted.”

You see articles talking about marijuana grower security techniques that help you live the fake life you have to live so narks like Amanda Harnocz and Detective Gottas don’t turn your life into utter hell.

You see articles showing how police officers are addicted to the power and money they get from the war on marijuana.

You see articles describing how CNN’s chief medical officer Dr. Sanjay Gupta apologized for lying about marijuana, now admitting that marijuana is a fantastic medicine.

Clueless Detective Gottas, who says in another Amanda Harnocz article that he opposes marijuana legalization because marijuana is a “gateway drug,” should take a cue from Gupta, and stop spewing reefer madness bullshit.

Even Detective Gottas would admit that busting marijuana gardeners is a lot easier and safer than going after violent criminals or corporate criminals.

Instead of being subject to snitches and raids, people who grow marijuana should be left alone to enjoy their cultivation of the most beneficial plant humans grow.
