I know Indicas are recommended for pain relief, but I don't really like being "stoned." What do you recommend?

Dear Harvest Honey,
Several years ago, I was in a car accident and injured my back. After trying all sorts of treatments—chiropractor, yoga, physical therapy, acupuncture—I finally turned to MMJ, and it has done wonders for relieving the pain and tension. I know Indicas are recommended for pain relief, but I don't really like being "stoned." What do you recommend?
Thanks a bunch
Susan from Phoenix
Well Susan, Its funny that you should ask because I was just having this exact conversation with my mother about a week ago. She has had hip replacement surgery and often has issues with swelling and pain but doesn’t want to be “turned around” as she likes to call it. And I will tell you just like I told her….you have a few options and all will take a bit of a search because you are one of the rarities!
The first and most simple answer is Topical treatment. While the strengths vary and it’s a bit of a battle to find a quality topical, if you can get your hands on a good medicated rub or cream that is the simplest form of medicating the pain without medicating the mind. If you can’t get a hold of a quality cream, rub or spray, I would suggest making your own. There are several ways about that but none are really hard, and if you want I can post a good recipe on my next article.
Your next option would be to try and find a quality TESTED strain that is high in CBD or Cannabidiol (the non psychoactive cannabinoids) and low in THC (one of the psychoactive cannabinoids). When I say tested, I am not joking one bit. It is very important that you find tested medication because the high CBD strains are super rare and it seems a pretty good marketing gimmick to just call a strain high in anything you want….because its such an new facet of the business people aren’t looking for it yet.
And the most time consuming, yet potentially the most rewarding form of medicating without feeling medicated would have to be juicing. Yes WEED JUICE, I said it! The only bummer about this is that you need to always have a LIVE plant ready to cut and juice. Just like with wheatgrass, it is best to consume the juice within 1-30 minutes so that you benefit from all of the enzymes. When juicing the raw cannabis plant, you're able to obtain CBD without the THC. So you can have all the health benefits without any of the high.
With so many options to medicate without feeling “medicated,” it’s just about finding the one that fits your lifestyle and needs the best. I hope this helps
Blessed love,
Harvest Honey
