There are many factors that contribute to growing monster medical marijuana plants. Lighting, nutrients, CO2, pH, and atmospheric conditions all play vital roles in monster plant production. However, these factors are insignificant in relation to the genetic lineage of the plant itself. In order for medical marijuana growers to get monster plants to produce monster yields they must first select a strain that is capable of doing just that. Here are five strains known for their ability to be cultivated into enormous plants that produce immense yields.

Jack Herer - Named after the legendary grower, Jack can do it all. This strain is not only prized for the potent medicine it produces, but it is truly a “utility player” for the medical marijuana industry. This plant can be grown indoors, outdoors, in SOG, ScOG, in hydroponic systems and in soil with tremendous results. Jack Herer can be easily manipulated to become a monster plant that will produce bountiful yields. Jack Herer also produces some of the highest quality medicine which is not always the case for monster plant strains. The resinous buds and trimmings of the Jack Herer can be turned into high quality extracts and/or medibles.

Big Bud - Many growers have grown tired of this strain but it needs to be mentioned due to its enormous buds and ability to grow very large. This plant is the definition of a monster plant and is relatively easy to grow for newbies. If you want to grow monster plants with monster yields, Big Bud is the strain for you.

Agent Orange - This monster strain does great outdoors and indoors (as long as you control it) and produces large yields of citrus smelling buds. The medicine from this plant is very uplifting and has become a popular treatment for patients with depression. Agent Orange is known to produce very large, dense buds, so extra caution needs to be taken close to harvest to prevent possible bud rot.

Crystal - This monster strain produces medicine with an abundance of THC crystals (hence the name). This variety should be topped multiple times to create a bushy monster plant. Yields of this “white” variety are absolutely outstanding.

Heavy Duty Fruity - They don’t call this one heavy duty for nothing. This monstrous strain produces huge colas with a pungent fruity smell. This plant grows great indoors and outdoors. It does best if topped or super cropped while young, especially in indoor environments. I wouldn’t say Heavy Duty Fruity is the best in any category. However, it is one of those strains that is quality all around. It’s easy to grow, produces large yields, and produces a quality medicine.

Growers must select genetics appropriate to their own desires. Selecting a strain in order to grow monster plants is no different than selecting a strain with the highest THC or CBD content. There are many strains of medical marijuana plants that are suited for creating monster plants. Do some research before you purchase seeds to ensure the variety you select will meet your needs and expectations.
