" Go nuclear on your powdery mildew plague. "

When powdery mildew hits a garden the grower must act quickly to control this nasty beast, otherwise it will destroy even the healthiest of medical marijuana crops in a matter of days. There is an abundance of fungicides available on the market, but if you really want to rid yourself of a powdery mildew problem (and trust me you do) then you need to vaporize some sulfur.

Sulfur burners are effective at controlling a number of molds and mildews by raising the pH on the surface of the leaves. As the sulfur is vaporized, a “dusting” of sulfur residue is left on all the leaves in your garden. This changes the pH level and creates an undesirable growing environment for the pathogens.

The Gro Pro Commercial Grade Sulfur Burner is a great example of a high-quality sulfur burner designed to last. The stainless steel housing not only looks awesome but ensures this unit won’t rust in high humidity greenhouse or indoor garden environments. The aluminum cap helps maintain the ideal temperature for vaporization and comes complete with a handle which makes for easy removal when replacing sulfur.

This unit  has two other features that show some actual thought went into its design. First, there are holes placed in the bottom portion of the stainless steel housing that allow for natural convection which helps burn the sulfur more evenly and more efficiently. Second, this unit features a proprietary PTC solid state heating element that provides consistent and reliable heat.

Some growers also use sulfur vaporizers for insect control. Vaporized sulfur has been shown to be effective on a variety of different insects. The sulfur interrupts the egg cycle and they do not hatch.
